VANCOUVER. June 12

Addressing the Pacific Science Congress, Mr Edwin Cheel, of Sydney, .stated that Australia had imported more than 800 plant species, some of which had proved commercial assets and others dangerous pests. Papers were read by representatives of Canada, the United States, Malaya and Japan showing similar results. Dr. Max Henry, of the New SouthWales Department of Agriculture, read a paper on pleuro pneumonia among herds in Pacific countries. .

A paper by Dr. P. Marshall, of Wellington, dealt with the physiography of ■New Zealand, and a paper by Dr. Kidson, of Wellington, dealt with observations.in the iipper atmosphere in relation to airship navigation. Information oil the lire of the Maori was contained'' in a paper forwarded by Sir Apirana Ngata.
