In a good fast professional contest for the New Zealand lightweight boxing championship Ray Nicol, 12st ilb, Invercargill, retained his title at Hastings to-night by defeating Billy Sullivan, 12st 6 i-lb, Hastings on points. The champion shaded his opponent ill the majority of the 15 rounds, Sullivan tiring badly from the tenth round.
