BOXING.
: PURDY BEATS TROWERN. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Dee. 30. The' professional light-weight boxing contest between C. Purdy and R. Trowern, for a purse of £l5O, at the Town Hall, went the full 15 rounds, and, was won by Purdy on points.
Trowern is the harder hitter, and is not a great deal behind Purdy in cleverness, but in actual boxing Purdy proved more accomplished, than his opponent.
