The extension .of‘ the, period of the embargo v on the importation of sugar into -Australia, for three years '.from August f3l next has been decided irpon byHhe Federal Ministry. "This "assist-. anc-e is to be given to the sugar industry .subject to - compliance: with certain conditions regarding the price of sugar to the: consumer and other matters. The retail price of small parcels of refined remain at_4id per lb, but there will be a concessions of various kinds emo'odying advantages to the consumers ( as compared with the. present arrangement. -
