In a buttons match on . .Saturday .afternoon,, the holders (A; Grant, Dahl, Goodwin and .Mills); defeated .Mahoney, Henderson, Adams and Grant by 26 to 19 points. * : HAWERA CLUB COMPETITIONS. On Saturday last the holders .of the A' Buttons added another win :to: their record, which stands at seventeen consecutive wins. It was expectd that the challenging rink, : which looks strong on paper,- would have’; .gone very close, to breaking down the continuity of wins being put-up by the holders,’but they suffered defeat by 28 to 11. The B Buttons were' also played the saiiie afternoon, when the holders (Baggett, Hobbs, Clark, Squire) beat the challengers (Old, Boot-ten, Joll, Burdekin) by '33-rto 20.
