FRUIT AND HONEY.
EXPORT 1 CONTROL APPROVED. LOCAL CONTROL DEFEATED. 'MY TELEGRAPH*—PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Dec. 17. The official count of the proposals to bring the export control clauses of the Fruit Control Act and the Honey Export Control Act into force has been completed, and in both instances a large majority of producers have decided in favour. The proposal to impose control over fruit intended for local consumption has, however, been substantially defeated in each of the provincial districts, except Nelson and Marlborough.
Voting on the fruit export control issue resulted in 191 for and 40 against. Following are the details of the votes cast in the provincial districts on the proposal that fruit intended for local consumption should be subject to control:
