COAL DEPOSIT.
FOUND NEAR OAMARU. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. / OAMARU, Dec. 16. A large deposit of good lignite coal has been discovered near Kurow. The face of the seam is 22 feet in depth. An application for a coal lease is being made to the Otago Land Board, and mining operations .will be commenced next month.
