At the last meeting of the. Hamilton branch of the Auckland Automobile Association ‘‘jay walkers” (people who cross the street at a, long angle) came in for some adverse criticism, it being pointed out that pedestrians have the sale right to the footpaths, while motorists are confined to the roads. It was urged that- pedestrians should, when crossing the street, Look both ways before leaving the pavement, and walk straight across, instead of at a long angle. By taking this precaution they would be able to see vehicles coming from either direction, and to this extent to assist motorists to observe the rules of the road and to avoid accidents. THE BOWLER’S SECRET. ‘‘The whole secret is fitness, my friend; a steady nerve, a clear eye, and good health. I know! All through the season I keep myself fresh, keen and physically fit by taking Maltexo (Wilson’s Malt Extract). It’s great stuff. Try it and see how well you bowl.”— Advt.
