ELECTRICIAN’S DEATH.

TOUCHED LIVE WIRE. (BY TELEGRAPH- —PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N., Dec. 10. William Russell Matthews, aged 23, of Palmerston North, an electrician employed at the Mangahao power house, was admitted to liispital this-morning in an unconscious condition and'suffering from burns and a- fracture of the base of the skull, and lie died this evening without recovering consciousness. Matthews came in contact with an electric current of 11,000 volts, the shock causing him to fall or eight feet. Contact with a live wire caused the burns to the, body, while in the fall he sustained the major injury mentioned. Deceased was a single man, and his parents reside here.
