.. .POSITION IN AUSTRALIA. . BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Dec. 11, 9.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 11. Official statistics show that the population of Australia on September 30 last was estimated at 5,835,187, an increase for the year of 120,168. The births for the year exceeded the deaths by ,79,024. Arrivals exceeded departures by 41,144. Since the census in April, 1921, the total population has increased by 399,453.
