The Government Meteorologist telegraphed as follows: For the twentyfour hours from 9 a.m. to-day the indications are for variable and strong breezes, southerly, strong to gale at tiines;-the weather appears likely to be clbudy and unsettled; heavy rain is to be expected and cooler ; - the barometer has a rising tendency temporarily; seas heavy’; tides good.
