The death occurred at Palmerston North on Sunday of Mr. It. T. 'Bell. The late Mr, Bell, who was 47 years of age, was well know throughout the Manawatu and further afield, having large_ interests in flaxmilling in the district. He was one of the first hemp graders appointed by the Government. Subsequently Mr. Bell entered the flaxmilling industry on his own. account, and was one of the original promoters of the Makerua banking scheme over three years ago, and was a member o fthe Makerua Drain age Board. He was also chairman of the Manawatu-Oroua River Board, a position be had held from the inception. of that body. At the time of his death he was managing director of both the Whitaunui flasmills at Moutoa and Tokomaru, and was a former vice-president and president of the New Zealand Flaxmillers’ Association.
