CROPLEY COMMISSION. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATIOX—COPYRIGHT . . SYDNEY, Dec. 4. Giving evidence before the Cropley Commission, Aldermen Burke denied that he had solicited a bribe, and said that when he first met Parnham the latter suggested to him (Burke) that if the road outside the company’s premises were regraded Parnham’s comP»”jT would make it worth his (Burke’s) Burke added that he indignantly repudiated the suggestion, as he was always of the opinion that the roadway m question should be lowered, and he was a practical roadmaker.
