The death of Dr. Noel S. Whitton, assistant surgeon at the Christchurch Hospital, occurred at Christchurch yesterday.—Press Assn.
A Sydney message reports the death of Dr. John Frew Robertson, aged 50. He was born at Dunedin and graduated at Otago University.
Commodore Alister Beal will represent New’ Zealand at the Naval Conference at Singapore (says an Auckland telegram). He will have as staff officer Paymaster-Lieutenant Prophit. They wdll go via Sydney towmrds the end of January.
A resolution of sympathv with the relatives of the late Mr. G". Giddy, of Tarurutangi, who played a prominent part in cricket in Taranaki, was passed by the management committee of the * orth Taranaki Cricket Association last night.—News.
- A Dunedin message says that news has been received of the death of the Rev. Peter Milne, at Uguna, New Hebrides. He and his wife settled in Uguna in 1870. Three of his family are missionaries.
