RUGBY FOOTBALL.
THE ALL BLACKS. THE MATCH OF THE TOUR" (“Spectator.”) Probably no match has been the of so much interest in the annals of Rugby as that which will be played to-morrow at Swansea, when the All Blacks will meet th© Welsh internationals. To both teams, in fact to New Zealand, as to Wales, this will be the match which above all marks the c*Hx of the whole tour of the All Blacks. Much as our team wish to win all their remaining fixtures, they would certainly elect to lose any rather than that against the Welshmen, and no doubt their opponents to-morrow think alike, that this is the match they want to win above all others. Both teams will be keyed up to a high pitch. No result has been awaited with keener anticipation than that of the match against Wales.
SCOTTISH REFEREE BARRED. BOYCOTT RESENTED. SYDNEY, Nov. 18. The Standard states that the name of J. M. Tennant, the Scottish referee, was submitted to the \AH Blacks for the Ulster match. The All Blacks refused. They are still harbouring deep resentment against the Scottish Union boycott, and decline to have a Scottish. official at any match, on the ground that they have already suffered sufficient humiliation. The New Zealand Rugby Union may ban Scottish pi avers in future British touring teams. The All Blacks are insisting on the final choice of referees in international matches. [(Scotland recently rejected private overtures that were made with the object of arranging two matches against the All Blacks. The newspapers at the time asked whether the Scottish controllinc body would be consistent and prohibit Scotsmen at Oxford playing against New Zealanders on November 2.]
