SYDNEY, Nov. 21. The transport group of unions has requested the- removal of thp Federal headquarters of the Waterside Workers’ Federation from Melbourne to Sydney, as the group believes the war could be more effectively waged from Sydney. Communist andi international influence has begun to make itself felt within the transport group, and messages have been sent ,to the international secretary of the Transport and General Workers’ Union in England (Mr Ben Tillett), asking him to secure a hold-up in England and at all ports en route of all ships loaded in Australia by bureau labour. BRISBANE, Nov. 22. The Overseas ■ Shipping Association has filed in the State Arbitration Court an application for the deregistration of the Brisbane branch of the Waterside Workers’ Federation. The overseas companies state that the step is being taken owing io the action of the union in breaking the award by refusing to work overtime. The interstate shipping companies are not parties to the application.

Mr Justice Powers has ordered a compulsory conference on Saturday between the parties to the Maloja dispute. Lascars unloaded the vessel’s mails without interference from the watersiders.
