DEATH AT 102.
GIPSY’S BELIEF IN PIPE. A centenarian, Mrs. Webb, who celebrated her 102nd birthday last March, died in August at Ross-on-Wey, Hereford. She had spent an arduous life travelling the' country in a caravan, and was fond of telling how a highwayman once robbed her of £lO. Mrs. Webb was an ardent smoker, and enjoyed puffing at her old clay pipe until a few weeks before her death. She credited her pipe with bringing her safely through a recent influenza epidemic.
