ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO SHOOT,

Criehton > licensee of the Turf Hotel at Stoke, was charged th ? to ‘ da y Trith, on November 18 at Stoke, (1) assaulting John R. .Kerr by pointing a loaded, gun at him; ana (2) with intent to! do grievous bodily harm attempting to discharge a loaded gun at John R. Kerr. When the ease was called on SeniorSergeant Barrett said the accused was not well enough to appear in court. The Magistrate: Where is he? Senior-Sergeant Barrett: He is in the cells. The police then asked for a remand in order that the accused should receive curative treatment, and the Magistrate granted a remand until Monday next.
