The ladies who have taken in hand to organise a function to provide funds for purchasing Christmas comforts for the inmates of the Old People’s Home, ate anxious that the public shall fully understand the purpose of the effort and trust that cordial support will be forthcoming. Therefore it is hoped .that there will be a large turnout at the plain and fancy dress ball to be held on Thursday evening next at the Foresters’ Hall. There will be a sitdown supper, and the Premier Orchestra will supply the music. The charges for admission are exceedingly low in the circumstances. The Mayor and the chairman of the Hospital Board will both be present at the function.
