routine matters. . The monthly meeting of the Hawera Hospital Board was held to-day, when there were present: Messrs F. Gillanders. (chair), G. W. Tayler. J. J. Mel don, A. T. Wills, A. L. Campbell, J. S. McKay, A. G. Larcom, E. A. v\ asher and E. J. Gifford. . OFFICERS’ REPORTS. The medical superintendent (Dr. W. M. Thomson) reported that on September 30 there were 60 patients in hospital. During October 67 were admitted, 70 were discharged and 3 died, leaving 45 remaining in hospital on October 31. The daily average of occupied beds during October had been 51.5, and the total number of patient days 1596. The farm manager reported that 487 gallons of milk and 8 gallons of cream had been supplied to the hosnital during the month. Vegetables and bacon had also been supplied. Reports by the matron of the hospital and the matron of the Old People’s Home were also placed before the board. All the reports were received. GENERAL. In connection with the decision at tho recent Hospital Boards’ Conference to form a Hosnital Boards’ Association, the hoard decided that providing other hoards fell in with the scheme they would he willing to affiliate. A vote of thanks was- accorded' Mr G. E. Shailer for his donation of asnxials to foe planted in the gardens in the hospital grounds.
