On account of the illuminations tonight The famous Fisk entertainment will not commence until 8.20 p.m.
In error it has been advertised that the Fisk Jubilee Singers would appear at Kaponga to-morrow (Tuesday 1 ) evening. The company will not appear at Kaponga, but will appear at Patea tomorrow.
TJie South Taranaki Winter Show, Hawera, have been allotted the following poultry championships for their 1925 show in July next(l and 2) Golden Wyandotte, male and female; (3 and 4") Utlity White Leghorn, male and female.
A Reuter cable message from London states that Joseph Conrad (the author) left £20,000. That the special levy for the purpose of providing the new hospital has been paid promptly by the local bodies, and that the Government subsidy thereon has been paid with equal promptitude, was mentioned by the secretary of the Hospital Board (Mr C. M. Haggett) to-day. The chairman (Mr F. W. Gillanders) expressed satisfaction at the manner in which the local bodies and the Government were t assisting the board to provide the institution which was so necessary to the, district, and added that arrangements were proceeding satisfactorily.
