Extensive operations are now proproceeding- in Morocco in pursuance of the Directory’s resolve to bring the campaign against the Riffs to a conclusion, even though this involves some withdrawal from the enemy’s country. General Priihe Derivera, who has exchanged dictatorship in Spain for the High Commissionership of Morocco, is directing operations. He boldly decided to fall back from the holy city of Sheshuan, 45 miles south of Tetuan, to a new fortified line. A communique in this -connectidh says the Spaniards are supported by warships and aeroplanes, and provoked an engagement with the view of inflicting exemplary chastisement, so as to facilitate, their subsequent retirement. In the course of hard, fighting the Spaniards lost ten killed and fiftv-two wounded.
The War Office has decided, to postpone the disbandment of the 192 i class to the colours in order to pursue ah inexorable campaign.
