ANNUAL SPORTS. The remaining .results of the sports events, held on Thursday, were as follow :—• .Relay Race.-—House team (E. Owen, Mi Burke, G. Bishop, C. O’Dea) 1, Commercial team- (G. Surgenor W. Phillip, J. Beauchamp, L. Church) 2, Engineers’ team (S. Yates, V. Walshe, K. Skellerup, A.-Harris) 3. /n %) Step and Jump.—-G. Bishop (2ft.), 36ft. lin., 1; E. Owen (scr.), 34ft. llin., 2; S. Yates (scr), 34ft. Tin., o. Championships.—^Senior: I. Nicholas, If points, 1; C. O’Dea, 15 points, 2; K. Skjellerup, 7... points, 3. Intermediate: G. Nicholas and- J. Gower (equal), 14 points, 1; J. Yinten, 13 points, 3. Junior: C. Sturrock, 20 points, 1; D. Lennon, 9 points, 2; D. Brown, 8 points, 3. COMPLIMENTARY. At the conclusion of the sports the gentlemen who had assisted during the. afternoon were entertained a.t tea. During tea the headmaster called for cheers for those who had so willingly helped. He included the A. and P. Society for the use of the grounds, the Athletic Association for loan of gear, Mr W. Gilbert for loan of crockery, and the many parents who had so generously contributed to the afternoon tea. He also mentioned the courteous consideration which the hoys had received from the caretaker,' Mr Ogle, during the preparation of the grounds for the sports.' M.r J. Gray, responding for the judges, stated that he and his colleagues felt it a very great pleasure to be able to.help the school in any way. He. remarked that the. fine sporting spirit among the boys was particularly noticeable, and wished the school success in all its undertakings. Mr J. W. Harding, on behalf of the Board of Managers, congratulated the staff on the very complete arrangements which had been made, and the boys on their splendid efforts. _ He apologised for the absence of the chairman, Mr R. S. Sage, and remarked that the Board was out to do all in its power to encourage the pupils in everv way. Mr R. P. Morrissey, on behalf of 1 all concerned, thanked rthe home science girls who had provided tea during the afternoon in their usual dainty manner. He pointed cut what an asset this class was to the school. A medal won by 1. Nicholas, who was 'first in the To yards clash at the Labour Day sports, was then presented. Nicholas was henrtlv applauded by those present.
