POSITION OF MFDICAL MEN. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N., Oct, 30. The hospital inquiry arising out of the complaints made by J. J. Bryce, Kiwitea, concerning the admission of his daughter to Palmerston North Hospital, was continued this morning, Mr Page, S.M., presiding. Prior to the hearing of further evidence, Dr Campbell Begg (Wellington), representing the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association, announced that, he appealed on behalf of the Association, relative to clause 6 of the order of reference, • which called upon the Commission to enquire generally into the practice and powers of the honorary medical staff of the Hospital Board, relative to the admission, treatment and discharge of patients. Dr . Begg stated that the Medical Association asked him to watch clause C, and they wpuld like his Worship’s ruling as to whether the honorary medical staff could be regarded as a separateentity. In regard to the whole of the questions involved as to hospital administration generally, he had been asked to assist the Commission in this respect. He asked leave to call Drs. Wylie and Bett and other members of the honorary .medical staff of Palmerston North Hospital. , The Magistrate said he would like to have, some such assistance as suggested by Dr. Begg in its relation to the general practice of other hospital bodies in New Zealand, and he would hear Drs.
