GRAVESIDE SCENE. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT. Received Oct. 28, 2.45 p.m. ■ - LONDON, Oct. 27. -The presence of Free State troops at the graveside at the commemoration service on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the hunger-striker McSwiney aroused Republican indignation. The troops refused to leave until they had fired volleys and sounded the “Last Post. McSwiney’s sister, seeing an officer laying a wreath, snatched it and smashed it to pieces. Republicans later held a meeting to protest at the desecration of the graves of the dead and the insulting presence of British soldiers in green uniform.
