BIG SCHEME PROPOSED. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Oct. 24, 11.40 a.m.) HOBART, Oct. 24. In the annual report , of the Hydroelectric Department, tabled in the Assembly, it was stated that there were prospects for a large factory for the manufacture of wood pulp“ and paper on the North Coast. The industry will in all probability involve a capital expenditure of approximately three million sterling, and would provide employment for a thousand men at the commencement. Four thousand electric horse-power will be required.
