The Government Meteorologist telegraphed to-day: The indications are for south-easterly winds, strong to gale -, the weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled; heavy rain is to be expected ; barometer rising temporarily; seas heavy; tides good.
DEATH. NEWBERRY.—At Rawer a, on Monday, October 20tli, 1924, Matthew John, dearly beloved son of Matthew and May Newberry, of Union St., Hawera; aged 44 months. Deeply regretted. FUNERAL NOTICE. The funeral will move from his parents’ residence, Union Street, Hawera, on TUESDAY, October 21st, at 10. a.m. fcr the Hawera Cemetery. Friends please accept this intimation*. A.. H.
