CANTERBURY ARCHERY CLUB.
This is a. sport which at one time was very popular in New Zealand. The following appeared in the Lyttelton Times of fifty years ago:—The annual general meeting of members took place on Saturday last, when a large number attended. The treasurer’s report showed that the financial state, of the club was satisfactory. The following ladies and gentlemen were elected office-bear-ers for the ensuing season: Lady Paramount, Lady \Vilson; president, his Honor Mr Bolleston ;• honorary treasurer. Mr E. A. Worthy; committee, Mesdames Leonard, Harper, 'Worthy, Holt. Turnbull. Messrs G. Mclntyre, F, tie C. M.al.et, It. W. Fereday and T. D. C'nrde!s: captain. Mr Tt. W. Fereday. Wednesday. October 7, was fixed as the opening day of the season, to continue during the months of October and November, having a recess through December and January, commencing again in February and bringing the season to a close at the end of April.
