FRACAS AT NAPIER.
MAN LOSES AN EYE. TWO MEN ARRESTED. CBY TKLEGRAI-I1 —PRESS ASSOCIATION. NAPIER, Oct. 12. A serious assault took place outside a., restaurant in Napier on Saturday night, and as a result David Davis', aged 23, and George Edgar Casey aged 25, were arrested. It is stated that Davis and Casey went to Paxie’s lestaurant for tea, and they asked for a corkscrew, which was refused. When they had finished their meal they created trouble over payment. Andrew Paxie, in ejecting Casev, rought him in the street, and the fight continued in front of the restaurant. Casey was either knocked down or fell, and it is alleged that when Paxie stood back to allow him to rise Davis came from behind and hit Paxie over the right eye, rupturing the eyeball. Paxie was taken to hospital, where the eye was removed. Casey and Davis will appear before the court on Monday.
