150th. ANNIVERSARY. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Oct. 9, 12.50 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 8. To-day is, the 150th anniversary of Captain Cook’s discovery of New Zealand, and Captain Kirk, of Gisborne, on behalf of Poverty Bay schools, presented a New Zealand ensign to Marton, Yorkshire, where Cook was born.
