EMPIRE CONTROL SCHEME. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Oct. 6. The Labour Party executive, aiming at stamping out profiteering in foodstuffs, submits to ’Tuesday’s conference a. resolution suggesting that agreements be made between the British and Dominion Governments, and where necessary foreign Governments, for bulk purchase and Governmental transport of foodstuffs and their distribution at enforced standard prices by local authorities and co-operative societies. It is noteworthy that the scheme broadly includes the alternative proposals made during tlie preference debate bv Labour members of Parliament.
