ANNUAL REPORT. (by TELEGRAPH —PEESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 1 The annual report of the Registrar of Friendly Societies states that during 1923 the membership increased by 3451, or 4.27 per cent, on the previous year.. The gross funds of the societies increased by £154,260—fr0m £2,593,692 to £2,747,952 —the, average capital per member being £32 12s 6d. The total interest earnings of the sick and funeral funds was £128,153 for the year, or a rate equal to £5 10s lOd per cent, an indication that in. making investments advantage had been taken of the high interest rates ruling. The mortality rate of 8.29 per 1000 is slightly higher than last year.
