WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: The beef market is still very firm, with prices about the same as at the time of our last report. Mutton: There is little change in the price of fats, shorn sheep now coming forward and finding ready sale at firni prices. Store cattle: There is quite a move foy all classes of stores, yearlings, two-year-olds, and grown steers being much sought after; there is an inquiry for good heifers to go to the bull, store cows also being in demand. Store sheep: There are at present very few stores-coming forward, a few pens of hoggets, ewes with lambs, and shorn wethers being the only class offering and finding ready sale at good prices. Dairy cattle: The vardir.gs aie getting smaller, hut there is still a good demand for choice cows or good heifers at profit. Pigs are coming forward in large numbers with oriees_ a. good bit easier, especially for fats. The bacon companies are now operating at Ojd. Stores are still selling well in comparison with prices ruling for fats. Horses: Good heavy and medium draughts and farm sorts are in demand, light horses being dull of sale.
DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs A. H. Turnbull and Co. have received a cable from Messrs Wed del and Co.. Ltd., dated London, 26th inst.. as follows: Danish butter, 234 s to 238 s (222 s to 2245); New Zealand, salted 218 s to 220 s (210 s to 2125). The market is firm. Cheese: White 94s to 96s (92s to 945), coloured 94s (91s to 925). Market firm. Last week’s prices in parentheses. FARMERS’ CO-OP. ORGANISATION SOCIETY’S REPORT. At Okaiawa. on the 30th ult., we held our usual monthly sale, and report a small yarding, which met with a ready sale. Fat cows. £5 5s to- £6, forward fresh conditioned cows £3 to £4 15s, boners and works cows at late rates, work .bulls (small) £1 2s to £2 10s, yearling Jersey heifers £3 4s, crossbred heifers (small) £1 2s to £2. dairv heifers up to £lO ss, others.£B to £9. At Urenui. on the 29th inst.. we had a good yarding, and report a good demand on practically all line 6, and a successful clearance satisfactory to vendors. Quotations: Yearling heifers £3, 2-year m.t. heifers £2 10s to £3, forward cows £4 to £4 12s 6d, store cows £2 to £2 15s, bullocks £B, °rade Jersey bulls £3 2s to £5 ss. pedigree Jersey bulls £l4 14s and £9 9a.
