The Ku Klux Klan was characterised as the last refuge of patriotism Worthy, of the name by the “imperial wizard,” Hiram Evans when addressing the second imperial convocation. “Klansmen and Klanswomen are virtually the salt of the earth, upon whom depends the future of civilisation,” he said.
