SYDNEY WOOL SALES. BY CABLE-PRESS,ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Sept. 25, 11.40 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 25. Sixty thousand bales of wool, worth £‘2,000.000, were sold at the first series of sales, which finished yesterday. LOSS ON COMMONWEALTH RAILWAYS. MELBOURNE. Sept. 25. The commissioners’ report- on the Commonwealth railways for the year ended June 30 shows heavy losses. The earnings per train mile were 8s Bjd, and expenses 11s oyd. The loss on working expenses was £124.620, and interest £231,221.
