ORGAN RECITAL.
BY DR, HAIGH, F.R.C.O
TO-NIGHT AT THE PRESBYTERIAN
CHURCH
Ihe opportunity of hearing an organist of the high repute of Dr. Haigh, of London, who is touring the Dominion as examiner to the Associated Board of R.A.M. and R.C.M., is not often given to the people of Hawera. When therefore Dr Haigh, in response to a request, consented to give a recital on the fine organ at the Presbyterian Church, it will be realised that a very great treat is in store for those who are keen to hear a selection from the best composers for the “king of instruments,” played by one who ranks very high in the world of music in England". Dr. Haigh has chosen a very fine and representative programme from the various schools of organ, music. His programme includes compositions by old and modern composers—“ Fantasia.” (Mozart), two Chorales (Brahms), Suite (Boellmann). Prelude (Debussy), Prelude (Wagner), Sketch (Schumann), Toccata and Fugue (Bach), Allegro (Widor), Canzone (Gnilmant), Overture (Hollins), and Cradle Song and Scherzo (Haigh). It will thus be seen that it is a programme of widely diverse styles. . It is expected that the church will be filled with music enthusiasts who are keen to avail themselves of the chance of hearing §o distinguished a plover and composer as Dr. Haigh. To cover expenses a collection will be taken.
