ay CABLE - rKESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT PARIS, Sept. 23.
A woman waiting outside the Government chateau at Rambouilet handed a revolver to a gendarme and confessed that she had intended to assassinate M. Herriot (the Premier of France), but her courage had failed. She was placed under arrest. ' The arrested woman is Madame Penjean, a publicist. She told the police that M. Herriot was persecuting her. She said she had proofs of the guilt of MM, Caillaux and Malvy, the recently pardoned ex-Ministers, and she intended to get arrested to produce them in the .police court. The woman, against whom there are many previous convictions, was taken to an infirmary. The police believe she is insane. Pen jean told the police that she several times intended to shoot M. Herriot, but she always desisted because he looked so nice. ‘
