The student responsible for the shooting at the Roumanian Legation was convicted at the Old Bailey on a chargq. of shootipg with intent to do grievous bodily harm, sentenced to 12 mcfiiths’ imprisomnent and recommended feu-' deportation,—Reuter. [A message dated London, J : uly 9, stated:' Tlie Roumanian Consul, M. March Beza, narrowly escaped death in the Legation at Kensiiigbop, when a compatriot' young student, whose request for assistance was refused, drew a revolver and fired two shots point blank. The consul, by grabbing the revolver, deflected the aim, but the flash from the revolver singed his hair. A desperate struggle followed, and the legation officials rushed to the consul’s assistance, hut the student was tremendously strong, and it took five meg. to overpower him.]
