TROUBLE AT CLYDEBANK

AN AGREEMENT REACHED

SY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 15. A surprising eleventh hour truce was arranged on the eve of the evictions at Clydebank. A representative meeting, of factors, tenants, and the town council was held at Glasgow during the afternoon, when it was agreed that all tenants who were able to do so be requested to pay rent or approach the factors with a view to the 'settlement thereof, and all cases which cannot he settled be referred to a tribunal for decision. Meanwhile, evictions will be suspended for two weeks to enable the tribunal to function.
