WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. BLACKBURN DEFEATS MAY. f 'BY TELEGRA PF PRESS ASSOCIATION ' • WELLINGTON, Sept. 15. Clarrie Blackburn (Frankton), 10.34, challenger, outpointed Harry May (Auckland), 10.4:1, holder, for the professional welterweight boxing title of New Zealand. The contest was rather lifeless. Blackburn won almost every round. A thrilling contest was provided by D. Clinton, Palmerston North, and R. ; Overend, Napier, who' boxed ten rounds at catch weights.. The judge could not- separate them.
