RIOTS IN KOHAT.
BY CARLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT (Received Sept. 13, 11.15 a.m.) DELHI, Sept._Hb Inter-communal riots in Kohat resulted in the military occupation of the city and the evacuation of the entire Hindu population under escort. The neighbouring tribes have observed" the appeal.of the British official in charge of the district to remain quiet, but local ruffians set fire to and looted a bazaar., Panic prevailed during the evacuation, Hindus wildly firing revolvers. They actually wounded three of their own escort, one fatally. Every official assistance was afforded to homeless Hindus during their return to this side of the frontier,. So far as is yet known twenty Hindus were killed;—Reuter.
