The standard of Prince Charlie’s bodyguard, captured at the Battle of Culloden m April, 1746, by Captain ueoige Burges, aide-de-camp to General Bland, realised £9OO at Sotheby’s recently.
A piece of blue silk ribbon worn by o-io 1 /? Charles lon the scaffold obtained
An old Pretender glass, with drawn bowl and tear in stem, engraved with the Jacobite version of the National Anthem, realised £430.
Sir Walter Scott’s proof sheets of the first edition of “The Betrothed” and “The Talisman” fetched £lOl.
