W.E.A. CLASS.
The Hawera W.E.A. class has now only five more meetings to complete the present session of twenty-four lectures. In view of the change that was previously made in the syllabus to allow of a- fuller treatment of the exchange question, the tutor (Mr. Sheat) has decided to depart from the original syllabus so far as the remaining five lectures are concerned. The remaining five meetings will accord-i’.'-ly be do.voted to the- following spo cial topics: September 11, “Labour and the Wages Question,” with special reference to recent development? in New Zealand; September 18. “Rural Credit, Mortgages, and the Moratorium”; September 25, “Fundamental Principles of Taxation”: October 2, “National Debts. War Finance and a Levy on Capital”; October 9. “The Reparations Question and tlm Prospects of the Dawes Scheme.” In order to create additional interest in the class with a* view -to increased membership in future years it is suggested that members" should invite visitors to .attend any or all of these lectures.
