BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT
Received Sept. 10,~12.'35 a.m „„ . LONDON. Sept. 9. iho freedom of the city of Dundee was conferred on Mr. Ramsay MacDonald. The Lord Provost stated it could never be said of Mr. MacDonald that he had mistaken State craftiness ior Statecraft. He was keen and upright as he had been downright in all his actions, and had proved to the world that a good Eurooean could be a patriotic Briton.
Air.. MacDonald acknowledged the honour and commended the courage of the city in making him a freeman. He regarded the honour, as an encouragement to do work that belonged not to his party, .but to the national party or no party. They must all hold one _aim in common, namely, the promotion of .goodwill-; among the nations and the establishment of peace on earth. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn'.
