OLD LADY’S BODY FOUND
PARTIALLY BURNED
BY CARLE— PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT MELBOURNE, Sept, 9. The body of Miss Bridget- Enwright, aged 69, missing from her home near Benalla since July 27, was found partially burned, in circumstances indicating foul play. Miss Enwright lived alone on her farm. The last time she was seen she was talking to a young man near her home, which, when examined, bore evidence of having been robbed, though there were ■no signs of a- struggle. Search parties have been out since her disappearance. Her body was discovered a short distance from the house.
Received Sept. 10. 9.35 a,m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 10. The body of Miss Enwright was found in a crevice among rocks, about two hundred yards from her residence. An examination of the body showed that her nose had been broken and there was a small hole in the top of her head, while the lower limbs were badly bruised. A shovel found 250 yards from her body has been identified as the property of a. neighbouring farmer, _ who says it. had been stolen. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
