TRAGIC END FOR AGED COUPLE. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. ADELAIDE, Sept. 9. The Barrowcliff tragedy was enacted on Sunday but it - was not discovered till early on Monday, when a neighbour entered the house and found that Mrs. Barrowcliff’s head had been badly battered.

Barrowcliff was still alive, lying beside the body and bleeding from a deep exit in the throat. He said that he hit her on the head once and . she never moved.

The couple just sold the house they lived in. for £IOOO. It is stated that Barrowcliff was a prominent figure in the Glenrowan district in the Kelly gang days.
