The Warwick Farm races, held at the Randwiek course, were the centre of much interest in view of the approaching A.J.C. spring meeting. Hie weather was fine and the going was good, the attendance being large. New Zealand horses figured prominently by winning two of the chief events and being placed in two others. Glentniinis victory m the War wide Handicap was specially meritorion6, as he •. defeated a number of leading sprinters ip time equalling a Randwiek record, besides snatching victory from another New Zealander by a narrow margin. The Cypher made a fine finish in the September Handicap, stalling off a great effort by Irish Rhythm. Results :
Three-year-okl Handicap (second division), one mile—Solidify I, Border Chief 2, Bonaparte 3. There were fourteen starters, including Giggle Won by a length. Time, 1.38*-. Flying Welter, seven furlongs.— Black Adder 1, Villeroy 2, Director 3. There were nineteen starters, in which were included Cistercian, Bathos, Killochra, and Lascelles. Won easily by four lengths. Time, 1.-255. V.ctrwick Stakes, six furlongs Glentmin 1, Father’s Voice 2, Braehead 3. The other starters were: The Monk, Otaere, Heroic, Petropod Duke Isinglass, Trimacre, Dancer Golden Voice. r The first to move were Glentruin, The Monk, and Braehead, but Father’s Voice quickly went- to the front from Braehead and Glentmin, and phis position was unchanged into the straight. Glentmin forged ahead before lie reached the Leger stand and finished a short neck in-front of-Father’s Voice, who beat Braehead by three lengths. There were eighteen starters, including Sunny awat' Cypher, was quickest away, attended by Irish Rhythm and Sunny Loch. At the mile Polycletan had charge, with Mirthmaker nearest, The Cypher having fallen back Polycletan led to the straight from Mirthmaker and . Irish Rhythm, The tanc?ThA n p T'- Passing the. dis- ™ Cypher came with a rash on the outside and fought hut a good finish with Irish Rhythm. Won by a length and a half. Time, 2.5$ ?
