FOOTBALL.
STRATFORD DISSATISFIED
It is understood in Stratford that the Stratford Football Club will object to the junior play-off between Stratford and Hawera taking place at Eltham on Saturday. The club is of opinion that, being a Thursday team, the juniors should not be required to play on Saturday, more especially as, in addition to the usual half-holiday to-day (Thursday), the town was closed for two hours on Wednesday. In view of these circumstances it is felt that there will be some difficulty in getting a team together for Saturday. JUNIOR FINAL POSTPONED. The football match between the Hawera and Stratford junior teams for the championship, which was to have been played at Eltham to-morrow (Saturday) has been postponed. The teams are unable to meet’ owing to difficulties arising out of the lialfholiday question. Should arrangements for the match be made suitable for both parties, announcements will be given later. The following junior team are asked to meet for a practice match at 2.30 to-morrow against another team to be arranged: Hobin. Watkins, Brown, Shore, Barron, Greig, Simpson. Grant, Tait, France. Laing, Hulbert, Murphy, Thomas, Ballantine, Munro, Sage.
