AIR MASTERY.
JAPAN’S BIG BID. ARMY REDUCED. TOKIO, August 14. The army authorities yesterday approved of ,a Teorgauisatioit plan, which' will go to the Cabinet., and thence to the Emperor. A smaller, but better armed, army has been the objective. There will be. a drop of five divisions, four being disbanded and one despatched to Korea. It is proposed also to drop the cadet ' schools at- Tohio. Hiroshima and Kumamoto, and to retrench the remount stations, War Office, general staff and other headquarters’ overhead expenses, effecting a total savino- of £2.100,000. This amount will now bo 'disbursed as follows: Aviation £1,500,000, establishment of tank and high-angle guii plant £50,000, non-coms.’, school £30,000, miscelloneous £20,000, gas and scientific laboratory £250,000, purchase of- more modern equipment £250,000. Any balance will be made available for the air forces.
