LAST PERFORMANCE

Received Sept. 1, 8.5 a.m. ' LONDON, Aug. 30. Sixty thousand • witnessed the last performance of the Empire pageant at 'V embley Stadium. The performers were drenched, but this was not an exceptional experience. Frank Lascelles, pageant , master, was .laurel-wreathed in the centre of the arena, while an aeroplane' encircled dropping Union Jacks. The military tatoo begins on Monday.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
